Reflection

The process f making a blog was much easier than I thought. I thought researching and the different types of fossil fuels would be like actually trying to get them. My blog turned out so much better than some information in a presentation. Making a blog was very fun too. To find Fossil Fuels, even to make a blog you have to be a communicator. Because you are telling someone something about fossil fuels. it is on something that I am teaching you about fossil fuels. I was also very principled. Because I did not play around when I was researching my energy. I did not do it all all at my house because maybe my mom would help me with something.

A Picture of Petroleum. By the look of it, petroleum probably hardens as it is exposed to air.

A Picture of Coal. This is coal after it is mined.

A Picture of Propane. This is prpane inside a fuel tank ready to be used on a grill.

Questions I couldn't find answers to

Although I answered almost all of my questions, their are still some questions yet to answers. Maybe they were not good questions. Or maybe they were too hard for me to find answers to. They were, why do we need this energy? Is this energy still in development? Is this energy connected to any other energies? Does this energy depend on ant other energies? What can we do to conserve this energy? Are their safer ways to get his energy? If it is, how do we know that this energy is changing?

Why is it like it is? (causation)

The Chinese first used coal. Mining for coal is very dangerous. Since 1900, 100,000 people have died mining for coal. Even American Indians used coal long before the white settlers did. Until the 1900's, drilling for petroleum was a financial risk. Burning fossil fuels creates a lot of pollution. Oil, gasoline and natural gas account for about 60% of global consumption. Unfortunately, our current rate of consummation, we probably won't have enough oil and gas to last threw the next century.

How is it changing? (change)

The country that produces the most natural gas is the United States of America. The state that produces the most natural gas is Texas. China produces the most coal. Wyoming produces the most coal. From 1800-2002, we have gone from 108,000 tons to 1,093,800,000 tons. Coal is burned in about half of the power plants.

How does it work? (function)

Power plants make electricity 24-7. Though they need lots of power and fuels to power the powerplants. Coal and oil are used at powerplants. Most of the coal we use now lived or grew in swamps. Coal is used 2.2% of the time. While electricity os used 91.7%. You can get coal in two main ways, surface and underground mining. The method of surface mining is called strip mining.

What is is it like? (form)

Petroleum is used more than any other substance in the world. Some petroleum fuels are used to generate heat and power. petroleum can pollute. Oil and natural gas are both types of petroleum. Oil is the liquid form and natural gas is the gaseous form. Coal looks like rock but it was once a living organism. Fossil fuels are non-renewble recources. Petroleum is a natural gas. It is oil found in the ground, it can be as thick as tar or as thin as water. Propane is what we use to power our grills. Propane is not like a natural gas. You can't see it, smell or taste it? Propane is a clean fuel that is very portablt. Coal is black or brown. Gsas, coal and oil are common fuels.

Definitions for diffrent types of Natural Gas/Fossil Fuels

COAL-A black or brownish-black formed by partialy decopostited organisms.

OIL-Any of the numerous substances that can be liquified easily on warming.

PETROLEUM- an oily flammable liquid that may vary from colorless to black, and canmade into gasoline, naphtha and other products in the refining processes

Getting Fossil Fuels

We have to dig for fossil fuels in the ground. This is where we get coal. You dig wells to get the fuels. Some wells are miles deep!

Natural Gas/Fossil Fuels

Natural gas is fossil fuels. Sadly natural gases are nonrenewable. Natural gases are made from dead organisms like dinosaurs or plants. Natural gas is in th air. natural gases are called "fossils" because they are made from fossils.

I have decided to do Fossil Fuels for my energy project or whatever we are doing.
This is now an energy blog for school. So whatever you see on here will probably be energy related.
